The first hiking week of 2023 (on foot, mind you!) was simply amazing. Eight enthusiastic hikers enjoyed every moment, marveled at the autumn landscape, and dined like royalty in bella Italia.
The 2024 hiking week was also a dream: we were blessed with daily sunshine and T-shirt weather (in November, no less!). The agriturismos in Umbria and Tuscany were once again fantastic—ranging from rustic and cozy to luxurious, offering everything one could wish for. The food was a highlight every time. The atmosphere was lively and harmonious—we’re already excited for the hikes in 2025!
That year comes with a special challenge: we’ll be hiking from Bivignano (Arezzo, Tuscany) through Le Marche to Rimini (Emilia-Romagna), admiring our four-legged friends who have already completed this route 11 times. Of course, we two-legged hikers can take a bit more time for the roughly 150 km. And a refreshing dip in the sea at the end is a must!
Let us know if you’d like more information (the hike is currently planned for late October 2025, but due to high demand, we’re considering an additional Rimini hike in May/June).
By the way: we’re happy to organize a custom hiking tour for your group—let us inspire you with our experience in this wild and romantic region!
What to Expect from a Hiking Holiday:
Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your apartments or rooms, and we’ll enjoy a shared Tuscan dinner (of course, not without a pre-dinner aperitivo in the pergola). The next day, the adventure begins—hiking over hill and dale, through the wild and romantic Tuscan landscape or other regions (the exact routes will be announced shortly before departure—we scout each section on foot and by mountain bike and save the routes using Komoot).
The daily routes will range from 15 to 22 km, so a bit of fitness is recommended, especially since our region features quite a few hills. After six days of hiking stages, we return and savor one final delicious dinner made with regional specialties before departure day arrives.
You’ll undoubtedly leave with a touch of wistfulness, some sore muscles, and many wonderful memories in your luggage. If there is heavy rain, we can quickly switch to an alternative program—but so far, we’ve been incredibly lucky (knocks on wood).
Light luggage
For hiking, we only take a light backpack with the essentials. The agriturismi usually offer rooms with two beds, but there may also be flats with three or four beds. A small supplement is charged for single rooms.
The weather in June is good and, yes, a bit warmer. But even in October and November, you can usually expect mostly dry weather, although the nights will naturally be cooler. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee, so good footwear and rain gear are a must. In case Petrus opens the floodgates, a spontaneous bad-weather program will be organized.
The agriturismos are typically Tuscan and welcome us with great warmth—real hidden gems, so to speak.
In short: every hike so far has been simply fantastico!
Dates 2025
The hiking weeks have brought us and the participants so much joy that we’ve already planned two new dates—the autumn date is set, and the spring dates will be announced shortly.
